Sustainability report 2025

We are pleased to present FSSA Investment Managers’ Sustainability Report 2025, using case studies to highlight our ongoing engagement with companies.

As in previous years, most of our company engagements in 2025 were related to corporate governance. We shared best practice and strived to encourage good corporate behaviour as we engaged on succession plans and leadership changes, management strategy and capital allocation, shareholder returns and board structure – to highlight just a few.

Beyond corporate governance, we have made progress on human rights, climate change and biodiversity, and this year, we have organised this report under these distinct pillars. While there is no change in our qualitative approach to sustainability matters – or in our assessment of quality more broadly – we have introduced new quantitative assessments to complement our analysis in these areas. This has improved the quality of our conversations with company management and allows us to track and measure a company’s progress more meaningfully.

We have long believed that incorporating environmental, social and governance (ESG) analysis into our research simply makes good business sense. However, we recognise that to engage more effectively with management teams, we must be selective, focusing on the things that matter most. Our engagement themes represent the most important sustainability issues facing our investee companies today, as well as the topics our clients say are most pertinent in their investment considerations. This is the underlying rationale for this year’s report.

We welcome any feedback or questions about our approach. Thank you for reading.
